O Canada! (Songs Abroad/Canada)

Officially, Canada's national anthem as of 1980. Originally a 1880 French poem by Sir Adolphe-Basile Routhier, music by Calixa Lavallée, clearly a variation of "March of the Priests" from Mozart's "Magic Flute." The 1908 English language version by Robert Stanley Weir is not a literal translation from the French. "True North" is a reverential Tennyson reference to Canada.
