On November 11, 1918, World War I came to an end with the signing of an armistice agreement in Versailles, France.\u00a0For a\u00a0time, Armistice Day was observed on November 11 to honor all veterans, living and dead, of the sadly misnamed War To End All Wars.<\/strong><\/p>\n

In 1938, Armistice Day was made a legal holiday; but by 1954, having been through World War II and the Korean War, November 11 became Veterans Day. The distinction between Veterans Day and Memorial Day is that Memorial Day honors those who have died in combat while Veterans Day is all-encompassing, all those who have served in our armed forces.<\/strong><\/p>\n
