"La Paloma"(The Dove), international favorite by Spanish composer Sebastian YRADIER (1809-1865), composed in 1863 after a visit to Cuba. Another Yradier composition, "El Arreglito" was acknowledged by Bizet as the direct source of the classic "Habanera" from "Carmen." Yradier would die in obscurity, never to reap either fame or fortune from his two works still played and heard everywhere.
